Joe Avery, MSc Graduate seeking employment in the Marine Sector

Having recently returned from a marine ecology survey project overseas, I am now looking for fulltime work in the marine sector in Cornwall.
I have an MSc in Marine Renewable Energy from Plymouth University and a BSc in Marine Geography from Cardiff University. Both degrees made extensive use of hydrographic surveying, and I have experience in deploying various acoustics instruments from small research vessels.

I am extremely keen to pursue a permanent career as a hydrographic surveyor, however I am adaptable and able to apply myself to any role in the marine sector. As it shows on my CV, I have worked for the RNLI in North Cornwall for the past 4 years. I currently live near Padstow but am easily able to relocate if necessary. Please find my CV attached for your reference.

  • Al Noble - Seeking Challenging Employment in Cornwall

Twenty eight years as RAF Aircrew and six as a Scientific Civil Servant. During my time in the RAF I flew on and captained Nimrod maritime patrol aircraft, career managed up to 480 aircrew, was a trials manager, an instructor and a trainer of trainers.

Ideally I would like to take on a senior role with a maritime/ marine flavour where I can use my recent MSc in Coastal and Marine Resource Management or my experience of Search and Rescue mission planning and execution and/or serve my passion for sustainability.  However, managing people and inspiring  them to strive to improve themselves has always been a key driver for me both in RAF Service and the Civil Service, I’m a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management and undergoing assessment for the same in IMarEST.
