Cornwall Marine Network

Mael Garrec - seeking project management role

Passionate by the maritime sector, I am looking for a new challenge in the maritime industry in Cornwall. Being an experienced project officer alternatively responsible for project implementation and bid-writing activities, I previously worked for Cornwall Marine Network, Falmouth Harbour Commissioners and the University of Western Brittany on various research projects. My previous activities included writing a 90-page strategic action plan looking at the feasibility of energy efficiency and sustainable development projects in the harbours of Truro and Penryn; drafting the 250M€ bid for the UniverSEAtech maritime university project in Brittany ; organising an international experts conference and writing experiments reports on oil spill response for two European projects for Falmouth Harbour Commissioners.

I have strong team working and coordination skills, being able to work in complex projects with multiple partners. Accountable, I also adapt myself easily to new work environments and like to act as a link between people with different backgrounds such as technicians, engineers and administrative personnel. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and I speak French and Breton as a native speaker.

I have graduated from a Master Degree in Transportation and Urban Planning in Ponts & Chaussées Paris Engeenering University and the Paris Urban Planning Institute, specializing myself into the legal structures and particularities of British ports within the European context. I also graduated from a Master Degree in Public Administration from the Rennes Institute for Political Studies (University of Rennes 1). Please download my resume from the link below and I would be pleased to have the opportunity to discuss with you any job opportunities you have now or in the future.

  • Joe Avery, MSc Graduate seeking employment in the Marine Sector

Having recently returned from a marine ecology survey project overseas, I am now looking for fulltime work in the marine sector in Cornwall.
I have an MSc in Marine Renewable Energy from Plymouth University and a BSc in Marine Geography from Cardiff University. Both degrees made extensive use of hydrographic surveying, and I have experience in deploying various acoustics instruments from small research vessels.
I am extremely keen to pursue a permanent career as a hydrographic surveyor, however I am adaptable and able to apply myself to any role in the marine sector. As it shows on my CV, I have worked for the RNLI in North Cornwall for the past 4 years. I currently live near Padstow but am easily able to relocate if necessary. Please find my CV attached for your reference.
