Job Summary
C Toms & Son are looking for an Experienced Parts/Stores Manager able to work within a well-established boat building business.
You must be able to work as part of the management team, but also take responsibility and control of a busy stores department.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Duties will include dealing with customers, contractors as well as our own technicians.
• You will be responsible for the daily ordering and stock control.
• You will be dealing with manufacturers and suppliers.
Required Experience:
• Parts/Stores or Warehouse Management: Minimum 1 year
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Driving License (essential)
• IT knowledge (essential)
• Customer service skills (essential)
• Forklift (beneficial)

A&P Falmouth

2 x Marine Engine Operators Licence (MEOL) positions
at A&P Falmouth
Falmouth Towage is situated within A&P Falmouth Docks and is part of the A&P group.
We are looking to recruit motivated and hardworking individuals to assist our Chief Engineers on our 3 local Harbour tugs.
The role involves working anti-social hours and applicants must be prepared to work outside and in all weather conditions.
Job requirements:
• The applicant will be required to be in possession of all STCW short course tickets including recent amendments
• Minimum Qualification would need to be a Marine Engine Operatros Licence (MEOL)
• Hold a vaild ENG1 medical
• Experience of Harbour tugs and vessels up to 750KW would be preferred although full training will be given
• Good communication skills;
• Flexible and capable of withstanding stress

Falmouth Marina - Duty Manager

Falmouth Marina, a 5 Gold Anchor standard marina is seeking to appoint a full time Duty Manager.

The role of a Duty Manager is to assist the Marina Manager to manage in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with the company’s mission statement whilst ensuring high standards of service and facilities are not only maintained but also developed.

The successful applicant should be an ambassador of first class customer service delivery, be able to lead a team and show balanced decision making and problem solving abilities.  Health & Safety awareness and a knowledge of marina operations is desirable. The role requires occasional working outside assisting around the marina as and when required.
 
The role will require flexibility with seasonal start and finish times during the busy periods, and will include working some weekends and bank/public holidays as part of a shift rota. The Duty Manager role entails an ‘on call’ out of hours rota, the successful candidate must be able to attend the marina in the event of an incident or emergency.

Wave Hub Limited 

Wave Hub Limited’s main responsibilities are to manage, operate and maintain two offshore deployment sites for demonstrating renewable energy technology.  The main site is Wave Hub in Cornwall and the additional site, in its early development stage,  is located off the coast of Pembrokeshire.

We currently have 2 opportunities to join the Wave Hub team who are responsible for managing the world’s largest and most technologically advanced facility for pre-commercial demonstration of offshore renewable energy technology.

 

Research & Business Development Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who has experience of working in a research and/or business development role and who understands the renewable energy industry.

You will be responsible for identifying, securing and delivering R&D opportunities for Wave Hub Ltd (WHL).  This includes leading discussions with potential research partners, identifying new research opportunities, preparation of R&D funding bids and management of successful projects through to completion.

You will also engage with project and technology developers, support the delivery of new business opportunities for WHL.

Electrical Development Engineer

You will be responsible for the management of all electrical services and assets at Wave Hub.  This includes working with Developers to ensure their electrical systems are appropriately designed and grid-connection operations are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner.

Marine Carpenter, Polruan


Due to continued growth, C Toms & Son is currently looking for marine carpenters to join their busy boat yard based near Fowey.


This is a varied role working on a wide range of new build fit out and refurbishment projects for commercial and leisure vessels.


You should have previous experience in the marine industry and ideally also have some expertise in GRP projects.

Predominantly working on Marine Diesel engines and systems, applicant must have at least 5 years relevant experience in this field.
A knowledge of outboard motors will be a bonus as well as marine petrol inboard engines.
