A delegation of nautical Cornish businesses will be showcasing their products and services at Europe's biggest commercial marine exhibition this month.
John White of Penzance Dry Dock, Nic Porteous of Duchy Hydraulics and Pat Dollard of Kernow Training
Hundreds of marine companies from 40 countries around the world are gearing up for the annual Seaworks Exhibition in Southampton.
And Cornwall Marine Network members Penzance Dry Docks, Kernow Training and Duchy Hydraulics will be among those vying for business. They will use the premier three-day event as a platform to publicise their business, attracting new clients and forge business to business contacts.
While the Cornish contingent have geography in common, their business interests are all different. Kernow Training offers marine first aid and safety training, Duchy Hydraulics provides hydraulic engineering solutions to super-yachts and the offshore and renewables sector, and Penzance Dry Docks services vessels and floating plants at its sheltered wet basin and tidal berth.
They will be sharing a stand and making the most of events that surround Seaworks such as presentations by industry leaders, meet the buyer events, plus their own unique events aimed at promoting the Duchy's strengths in the commercial marine sector.
CMN is a not-for profit organisation dedicated to sustaining the growth and prosperity of its Cornish marine members. The network has supported the Cornish team by making introductions, organising their stand and marketing material and helping reduce the overheads through shared costs.
Tim Bowerbank, CMN's Marketing Manager, said: "Seaworks is going from strength to strength and is the ideal international platform to launch new products and build relationships with prospective businesses and existing clients.
"Time away from the office attending such events can have unpredictable returns, especially for small businesses. By working together, the three exhibitors can get more for less cost-wise, plus share the introductions and contacts they make during the event."
Seaworks runs from June 15 to 17 and attracts some 6000 visitors, including marine buyers, sellers and innovators from around the world.
Other CMN members with their own stand at the exhibition include Gecko Head Gear, which manufactures and supplies helmets for the marine environment, Wills Ridley, designers and manufacturers of marine steering and propulsion systems, and Quantum Marine Marketing, who help promote and market commercial marine businesses.
