Sage course certificates presented to delegates
Dozens of people recently brushed up on their business expertise at CMN's range of popular skills workshops.
Throughout November and December 2011 marine businesses learnt to use 2D and 3D CAD software through subsidised courses run at CMN's new fully-equipped IT suite.
Attending members attending included A & P, Wills Ridley, R. Pearce & Co, E-Tech Centre and Powerfal. They spent two days being taught how to use the Auto-Cad software to create new drawings as well as modify and manipulate existing drawings.
Earlier this month a further 12 people updated their basic accountancy capabilities at a two-day Sage for beginners course. The free introductory workshop, again held at CMN's offices in Falmouth Business Park, equipped them with a sound basic knowledge of how to upload the Sage software and carry out simple accounts procedures.
Attendee Clare Cass, of Challenger Marine in Penryn, said: "It was an excellent course and a couple of days well spent. I'm keen to progress to doing more business administration type courses such as this, which will help improve our office efficiency."
The Sage course, and CMN's forthcoming calendar of workshops, are funded through the ESF Skills for Work project. The courses are embedded with numeracy and literacy which provide delegates with a further nationally accredited qualification on completion.
