Vacancy at Westways in Falmouth
Westways, the largest new boat and brokerage business in the South West of England, has recently opened a new office based at Arwennack Street in Falmouth. They have a vacancy for a position at the Falmouth Office. The role will focus on front of house responsibilities (i.e meeting and greeting customers and taking initial enquiries). The ideal candidate will support the sales teams and the back office which is based at the Plymouth office. Experience of working in a yacht broker not essential, although full training will be given.
Hours are flexible, but thought to be 10.00am – 4.00pm 3/4 days a week plus Saturday mornings. A significant level of flexibility is available for the right candidate.

Apprenticeship in marine engineering wanted
My name is Mark Robinson, I am 16 and looking for an apprenticeship in marine engineering to follow my current course which is a City and Guilds 2451 and a NVQ2 in this trade. I have 10 GCSE's at C including English, Maths, Resistant Materials and will have passed a Keys Skills level 2 in I.C.T. by the end of my course. I have also completed R.Y.A. courses in powerboating (level 2) and sailing (level 1). My work experience placement in school was at Falmouth Yacht Brokers which was one of the influences that made me decide to go in to this trade. My Interests are watersports (kayaking and sailing) and I play mandolin and guitar in an irish folk group.

Summer crewing job available - Fowey
Fowey Marine Adventures are looking for one person to crew onboard our vessel. Anyone interested does not need any maritime qualification, but we would like someone who has an interest in the marine environment and wildlife. Its a summer job only but a great opportunity for someone studying similar subjects at college or university.

Ship's Captain needed for Western Australia trip
We are a small business looking for a suitably qualified Ship's Captain to sail our 82 foot steel catamaran for 5 months in Western Australia between May and October this year.
Due to a shortage of qualified Master 4 Captains in Australia, we have decided to try aboard to obtain a suitably qualified Captain who would like to operate our vessel for the 5 months in a magnificent Kimberley region of North West Australia.
The vessel accommodates 22 passengers on 8 day cruises in a beautiful untouched area of Australia consisting of 1200 uninhabited lslands.
